Lee Smith is a former MLB pitcher for eight different teams over a 18 year career. He was primarily used a relief pitcher and he was considered to be one of the most dominant closers in baseball at the time he played. He spent eight seasons with the Chicago Cubs, and he spent numerous seasons with the Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals and California Angels. During his career, Lee was a 7-time All-Star, 3 times he won the Rolaids Relief Man Award and four times he led the majors in saves. At the time he retired, Lee held the MLB record for games completed (802) and games pitched (1022). Lee held the MLB record for most saves from 1993 to 2006, when his 478 games saved was passed by Trevor Hoffman. He was named to MLB Hall of Fame in 2019.
