    Description

    This is an adorable Swineside Ceramics teapot in the shape of a cottage. It features a cat at the door, a bird on the red-tiled roof, and a sign on the door saying "Back 4 Tea". It wasmade in Leyburn, North Yorkshire, England. Swineside Pottery,founded in 1978, created many quirky and eccentric vintage designs which arestill popular with collectors. Each teapot is handcrafted using acombination of modern and traditional techniques. The basic manufacturingprocess has remained virtually unchanged since the 18th century. When the foundingowners retired, Swineside became known as the Teapottery andthen Ceramic Inspirations. The teapot is marked Swineside Ceramics, England on the bottom.
    The company now works with sister company CardewDesign creating new products for teapot collectors across the world.
    This wonderful cottage teapot measures  9” tallby 8” wide. It is in excellent condition, however there is a chip on theunderside of the lid (see photo). There are no other cracks, chips, or crazing. The spout and handle are in perfect condition.
