Description
This sale is for a pre-2000 James Sadler & Sons bone china, 2-cup capacity, Crown-style teapot from the Sadler Company's "London Heritage Collection," "The Tower of London" edition #4648 and was made in Staffordshire, England. This item has been out of production for over 20 years, and is marked "Made in England." These are long sold out from various retailers. The teapot is highly stylized and detailed, and features The Tower of London on the lid the famous ravens flank the spout, and a depiction of the various guards of the tower around the pot. The pictured guards are indicated on the bottom of the teapot and are: the "Constable of the Tower," "Guardsman," "Chief Yeoman Warder" (Beefeater), "Raven Master,"Honourable Artillery Company Officer," and "Yeoman Warder."The bottom also has some Sadler hallmarks in gold gilding- see images.
It is in new condition, and includes its original Sadler "Classic Collection" booklet picturing all products in the company's Classic product line before closing in 2000. The teapot is a 2-cup capacity and stands about 6 1/2 inches tall with lid, and about 8 inches from spout to handle. It has no cracks, chips, or crazing and all gold gilding and glaze remains in excellent condition.
