This is a stunning and collectible vintage piece of Tibetan craftsmanship. It is a Tibetan ceremonial belt, handcrafted in turquoise, coral and cowrie shells on black fabric. Belt measures a total length of 52 inches and the decorative section is 22 inches long and 4 1/2 inches wide at the center. What an eye-popping accessory this would make! It was purchased in Boquete, Panama.  There are two rows of cowrie shells at the sides with a center focal of cowries in a circle around a dome of inlaid turquoise chips. Rest of decorative section of belt is filled in with small red coral beads and outlined with black beads, all hand sewn. This is attached to a black fabric. There are two tie cords, each ending in a small cowrie. Piece is in very good vintage condition. There is a "bump" close to the end of one cord. Not sure what it is, but does not affect the integrity of the cord. Comes in gift box.
